Civic Humans is a community arts lab based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We craft learning, leadership, and lifestyle campaigns that bring people together for the common good.

Our Purpose

Hour after hour, day after day, people across the world are working together to foster mutual understanding and mutual aid. Despite obvious differences in language and law, the very definition of “community” is changing at lightning speed, forcing us to consider the ties that bind us and our responsibility to maintain them.

As Civic Humans, we aim to make those ties visible—exploring how and why people participate in both local and global civic life and translating our discoveries into creative resources and rituals that help us do it better.

Our Principles

Be kind.

We promote mutual aid and collective care—strengthening the relationships that help us.
